Home of next-generation technology
To scale our technology across new metals and formats, we are expanding our pilot facility into a world-class R&D centre. Located in Trondheim, Norway, we sit at the heart of one of Europe’s strongest hubs for advanced materials, alongside renowned R&D environments like NTNU and SINTEF.
An open innovation platform
The R&D centre will serve as a collaborative hub for our experts, researchers, and industrial partners. Equipped with integrated process lines and advanced testing laboratories, it is designed to drive the breakthroughs needed for the next generation of solid-state products.
Our history – in brief
Circmet, originally founded as Nuvosil, began its journey in 2017 with a simple yet transformative vision: to develop a process that could recycle metal without the heavy energy penalty of melting.
Our early focus was on proving the scientific feasibility of solid-state screw-extrusion, which is transforming metal chips and scrap directly into dense, high-performance rods. Today, after successfully establishing the world’s first industrial-scale pilot extruder, we are accelerating our Low Energy Recycling (LER) concept towards the commercial launch of our first product.
As a company, we are not merely aiming to be a materials supplier. We are engineering a new circular economy where material integrity is preserved, resource efficiency is maximised, and the carbon footprint of production is virtually eliminated.
